Known for: One of the greatest & most talented people in the world, she’s a singer, dancer, actress, model, magit-chin, craft maker, & has made a huge career with her hugely successful YouTube channel, her successful live shows, & her books. She is truly an amazing person…….. Okay, in all seriousness, let’s do this again. She’s a character created by actress/comedian/internet celebrity Colleen Ballinger, known for her successful YouTube channel with several silly & funny videos, her successful live theater shows, her own television series Haters Back Off! for her books & other merchandise, & for appearing in other successful shows, the biggest one being Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. She’s an obnoxious & extremely narcissistic girl who wears way too much lipstick &, & she is under the delusions that she is one of the most talented people ever when in reality she is super talentless. Videos she often creates include teaching lessons on how to sing, collaborations with other YouTube celebrities, craft making videos, makeup tutorials, responding to hate comments, eating foods from other parts of the world, & covers of popular songs. She is clearly not intended to be a very good person, but despite her many MANY flaws, she is still an endearing character who clearly doesn’t know any better & has her moments of having a heart.
Why I say MIGHT as opposed to IS: Miranda has made is absolutely clear in many videos that she is highly religious & that she believes in God & Jesus. One example: one of her videos is a music video called “Pregnant Virgin”, where she expresses that she is the next Virgin Mary & that God chose her to have another immaculate conception, & the visual motif of the Virgin Mary is prominent throughout the video. (A little context: in real life, Colleen Ballinger was pregnant with her first child, & so she worked it into the Miranda Sings videos by having Miranda be super narcissistic about the pregnancy & thinking she’s the next Virgin Mary). That said, she has never actually stated what her particular sect of Christianity is, & Colleen has never really stated Miranda’s religious faith either. Miranda’s super religious beliefs are clearly meant to be Colleen poking fun at highly conservative Christians, with Miranda being very over the top about not wanting to sin, despite the fact that she constantly sins. However, there is one thing that hints to Miranda being Catholic, besides her adoration of Mother Mary: in the background of some videos, whenever you see religious items on display, nun figurines can be seen along with her crosses & figurines of Jesus. Since nuns are Catholic, this might indicate that Miranda is Catholic as well (obviously not a good one, but still Catholic nonetheless). Still, I’m not sure that’s enough to really prove anything, so the only thing to do is wait for the possibility that Colleen will reveal what Miranda’s specific denomination is.
